What is competition mode?

Competition mode splits groups of 8 or more players into two teams, each tackling a different half of the game simultaneously. One team starts in the front, the other in the back, and both race to escape their section first. After 30 minutes, the teams swap sides for the second round.

Can 2 players play any of your games?

Many games can be played by 2 players, but some require a minimum of 3 players in order to complete the experience. Please note that the difficulty of all our games will be greatly increased for teams of 2 players.

What does family friendly mean?

When we say a game is family friendly, we mean the themes and content are appropriate for all ages. There isn’t anything in the game that’s intended to frighten someone or be inappropriate for any age group.

That said, family friendly doesn’t necessarily mean the game was designed for children. Many of our games are family friendly in content, but better suited to teens/adults depending on complexity.

What are the accessibility considerations for your games?

Will other people be added to my booking?

No. All of our bookings are private, so your group will have the game to yourselves.

Do I have to book in advance?

We strongly recommend booking in advance as we operate by appointment. Walk-ins aren't guaranteed to be accommodated as we may not have staff on site should you arrive without a booking.

Do I have to pay in advance?

Yes, full payment is required at the time of booking. If your plans change, you can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your booking.

What if my player count changes?

Reach out to our team and we'll update your booking by charging or refunding accordingly. We recommend giving us as much notice as possible as additional space isn't guaranteed and is subject to availability at the time the request is made.

Outdoor Game FAQ

Where are the outdoor games located?

Outdoor games are located in downtown Kingston, with the starting location at Improbable Escapes HQ (303 Bagot Street, Suite 16B).

How many players?

You can play these games with a minimum of 2 players, and a maximum of 10 players. We recommend 3-8 for the best experience.

How long are these experiences?

Gameplay is up to 2 hours in length. The average team takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to finish the route.

This game is played outdoors and includes about 45 minutes of walking, in part by Kingston’s beautiful waterfront. Please come prepared with adequate clothing, water, comfy shoes, and anything you may need to ensure your comfort.

What do I need to bring?

Please come prepared with anything you may need to ensure your comfort, such as proper shoes, a jacket, layers, sunscreen, etc. Bring a cell phone, as you will interact with your host via text for hints along the route.

What if it’s raining or snowing?

The game goes on rain, snow or shine, so please come prepared! In the case of extreme weather, we may delay or reschedule your game.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Dogs are welcome to join you on your outdoor adventure.
