About Improbable Escapes
Improbable Escapes was founded in 2015, opening its first location in downtown Kingston with a mission to create immersive and interactive escape room experiences. Early on, the company set itself apart by collaborating with historic sites and museums, such as the Fort Henry National Historic Site, to develop unique, story-driven games that blend history, puzzles, and adventure.
As demand for its experiences grew, Improbable Escapes expanded in 2016, moving to a larger downtown location, Improbable Escapes HQ. This new space allowed for the development of more intricate escape rooms while continuing partnerships with museums and heritage sites. Over the years, the company has built both indoor and outdoor escape rooms, offering a diverse range of interactive experiences.
In 2019, Improbable Escapes expanded further with the launch of Improbable Escapes Wonderland in Kingston’s west end. This location features a full board game café with over 600 games, a retail store, multiple escape rooms, and a welcoming space for social gaming and events.
The company continues to create and open new escape rooms, constantly pushing the boundaries of immersive storytelling and puzzle design. Over the years, its dedication to high-quality, engaging experiences has earned numerous industry awards, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the escape room industry.

Kingston’s west-end answer to family-friendly entertainment, Improbable Escapes: Wonderland gives a whole new meaning to, “Double the fun.” Here’s why: we decided to take the traditional escape room idea (which is awesome, if we do say so ourselves!), and give it a little twist by also offering a full-service board game cafe.
Themed around famed children’s novel Alice in Wonderland, the lounge currently stocks over 600 carefully-chosen games that will appeal to children of all ages, so whether you are frazzled parents trying to find something fun and unique to do with your little ones, are out with your friends or have planned a night out with a special someone, we guarantee you’ll have an absolute blast.
If you want to give your IQ score a test, check out our west-end escape rooms, inspired by storybooks and fairytales.
If you’re feeling a little peckish while you’re getting your game face on, no worries. We take “full service” literally, and have a food menu (complete with alcoholic bevvys) for you to choose from. And if you’re planning a celebration, good news: we’ve got you covered in that aspect, too. Wonderland is also home to a party room, which is perfect for unique, adventure-filled shindigs.
