ARE YOUR STUDENTS UP FOR A CHALLENGE?

Field trips are educational experiences that allow students to apply their lessons to the real world. These are often some of the most memorable moments of a students career. Let's help make your field trip a memorable one!

Our students really loved the trip to Improbable Escapes! It was like they were transported into a different world, but it was a life-sized game. They were really impressed with the design of the rooms, and I was impressed with how active they were as they called out ideas to each other and eventually brainstormed the solutions needed to break out. It was an excellent experience for team building!

How can Improbable Escapes benefit my classroom?

Improbable Escapes has years of experience running escape rooms for students. Also, the Improbable Escapes team travels through North America giving lectures and talks on gamification - learning through play. We are huge advocates for learning and how to place high value on certain educational components. Plus, we're rated as Kingston's #1 Fun Thing To Do! Below are some examples of what your students will gain by playing an escape room at Improbable Escapes:

Increase Teamwork

Organize your teams and mix students in a strategic way. Allow them to build stronger relations with other students that they may not necessarily interact with otherwise.

Perspective

New perspective is gained by students while playing escape room games at Improbable Escapes. They interact with different stories and ideas, which force them to think outside the box.

Variety

Escape rooms allow for variety outside of routine lesson plans. Instead of learning in a classroom, students can actively learn and use teamwork, communication, and leadership principles.

Interest In New Professions

The Improbable Escapes team has a very vast educational background (i.e. Communications, Biochemistry, Psychology, Computer Science, Art, Firefighting, Industrial Electrical Engineering Tech and more). We're always happy to talk to students about various education paths that lead to working in a very creative industry.

Leadership

Leadership skills are both taught and used organically in escape rooms. Natural leaders often step up to help take control of the group, while quiet participants also become leaders by solving puzzles and using their skill-sets to become involved in the experience.

Bonding

Escape rooms force students out of their shells and to communicate with each other in a new environment. During an escape room, they can connect on a personal level that is harder to replicate in a classroom.

Why choose Improbable Escapes for your next Field Trip?

Planning a field trip can be hard. You have to find something that fits the curriculum and that is fun, exciting and entertaining for a whole class and staff members. A lot factors in when it comes to organizing and planning a field trip for a class of any size or age. Improbable Escapes makes this planning process much easier by providing you with a unique and fun experience for all! We often host birthday parties, meetings, and field trips. Improbable Escapes do our best to help out with the planning by offering insurance certificates, emergency plans and other administrative paper-work.

You may be wondering about what an escape room entails. An escape room is a physical game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints and strategies to complete the objectives at hand. Escape rooms are truly a one-of-a-kind experience that promotes the use of very important skills amongst a team of people.

At Improbable Escapes, for every 8 students, a teacher/staff member is allowed to play for free. We also offer a very affordable experience for people of all ages . For groups with more than 18 students, the fee is $15 per student plus tax. For groups with less than 18 students, the fee is $17.50 per student plus tax. You can book your field trip with us anytime from Monday to Friday. When you plan your field trip with us, we offer a space for student’s to eat lunch, and we ensure that you’ll be offered a private space during your booking. Your students of any age will be able to play any of our following games: The Legend of the Mayan Temple, Love Letter Lockdown, The Cure for the Common Zombie, and TriWizard Trials. We also have the game Coroner’s Report for students over the age of 16.

When you play an escape room, you’re encouraged to use team-work, leadership, problem-solving skills, as well as positivity and open communication.  These skills are great for students of all ages to practice and apply in any setting. Your students will experience increased team-work, perspective, variety, leadership, bonding and potential interest in new professions. Escape rooms allow for variety outside of routine lesson plans. Your students will be forced out of their shells and comfort zone while playing in a new environment, and they’ll be able to connect on a personal level that is difficult to replicate within a classroom or another field trip setting. Your students will be forced to think outside of the box during their experience at Improbable Escapes.

This is an experience that both students and staff members will find valuable and enjoyable for many reasons. We hope that we will see you soon in a booking with your class, and that we can watch you escape the Mayan Temple, break out of detention, release the Cure for the Common Zombie, or pass your TriWizard Trial exam.
